About Angelina

LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR Associate, Art THERAPIST, & Eco Therapist

Fostering a warm and inviting therapeutic environment through a consent-focused approach and with respect to your boundaries and needs is my commitment to your self-discovery, awareness, creativity, personal transformation, strength, growth, and truth. Admitting to one’s struggles or vulnerability can be challenging – while reaching out for support can be even more so. It takes courage and bravery to seek help, and I am honored to offer you my support as you begin – or continue – your counseling journey. While in this individual experience through therapy, you are not alone. I believe that you are the sole expert of your experiences, and together, we can establish a strong and secure foundation for you to begin working towards your desires.

As a Middle Eastern North African (MENA) individual, liberation is true to my soul, and I have a great understanding of community-built strength. I have a wealth of knowledge and experience in working with diverse populations, from children to adults–including but not limited to LGBTQIA2+, MENA, BIPOC, and neurodivergent individuals.

As an art and eco-therapist, I hold great excitement for human connections while integrating a relationship between art and the outdoors. Passionate by the power of art and nature, I believe that the merging of psychology, ecology, and art is imperative in balancing our mental well-being while embracing a relationship with the earth and a better sense of self. I feel strongly that creativity, art-making, and connecting to the earth provide us with a unique opportunity to explore, express, and discover feelings, emotions, memories, thoughts, experiences, dreams, and beyond. Providing a space where an individual may want or need an alternative way of expression, my work with you is not limited to art or ecotherapy if it feels uncomfortable or scary to you. You are also not expected to have any ‘traditional’ artistic knowledge or skill to experience art therapy.

Through these means, I approach the application of therapy from the primary lens of intersectional feminist theor, where everyone receives respect and equitable treatment. My counseling approach is integrative and examines trauma-informed care, drawing on frameworks such as anti-oppression/liberation psychology, somatic therapy, existential theory, narrative, person-centered, mindfulness-based, polyvagal, humanistic, Gestalt, attachment, HAES, intergenerational trauma studies, and parts work.

Through somatic attunement and demonstration, my approach is the here-and-now – to focus on what is happening in the present moment of your life, your mind, and [possibly] throughout your body. This will lend itself to naturally exploring your past later down the path we continue to explore. I view the body and nervous system as a site where liberation can occur while being in touch or in tune with what each person notices within themselves. I emphasize the discovery of the sense of self, voice, transparency, collaboration, choice, and agency throughout the therapeutic process and relationship building of the therapeutic alliance we have created together.

I am committed to riding alongside you as you discover and create transformation, learn to connect with your center, the world around you, and bloom. Through a non-judgmental, approachable, creative, and curious space – I believe that when we engage in healing individually and within community, we are moving one step closer towards social justice and liberation for all
