Sarah Hie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate in the state of Washington. Sarah knew she wanted to be a therapist from the age of fourteen, and has followed her passion for learning more about the mental health field ever since. During graduate school, she provided therapy services through her university student clinic as well as practiced as a clinical therapist intern. She specializes in working with trauma, grief, and sexual health.
She has a background in working as a caretaker for adults with developmental disabilities, providing music therapy in retirement communities, and has a passion for adapting to the needs of her clients in the way she approaches her therapy. Sarah is dedicated to understanding the unique stories of each person she works with and believes in showcasing how human we all are in our life experiences. She is a firm believer that therapy is a place to be human, and a place for people to heal the relationships they have with themselves and with each other.
She is currently co-publishing a case study with Dr. Irwin Goldstein focused on bridging the gap between the medical and mental health fields for sexual trauma and chronic pain. Sarah graduated from Pacific Lutheran University and was a valedictorian student speaker.
Sarah works from a sex-positive approach, supporting those in the LGBTQIAA+ communities, and has a specific interest in working with polyamorous people and those in the kink and BDSM communities. Sarah is happy to work with individuals, couples, polycules, and families. She is currently accepting new clients and is working under the supervision of Dr. Misty Gibson as she completes her full licensure.
