Dr. Misty's primary mode of therapy is the relational-cultural theory, and she practices from a strengths-based, trauma focused lens, incorporating art therapy and EMDR into sessions as necessary.
Dr. Misty has a strong passion for supervising new therapists and interns working towards licensing hours for both counseling licensing and art therapy certification in both Washington state and Maryland, and holds the Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) title. Misty is a Board Certified TeleMental Health Provider, and a Board Certified Registered Art Therapist (ATR-BC), and an Art Therapy Certified Supervisor. She is an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist.
Misty focuses much of her work on the trauma informed therapy style, EMDR, however she makes adaptations to the technique to be accessible for neurodivergence. She offers sessions ranging from 50 minutes to full day intensives for trauma processing. She would be happy to discuss this with you during a consultation!
