Rye is a current graduate student at Antioch University Seattle, working toward completing a
Master’s in Couple and Family Therapy and a certification in sex therapy. They also co-lead sub-
clinical Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills groups for folx looking to improve their
emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and mindfulness skills.
Rye exists as a queer, nonbinary, neurodivergent human. They also identify as white, middle
class, able-bodied, polyamorous, sex positive, kinky, nerdy, and both gen-z and millennial. They
are very passionate about providing care for those in the LGBTQIA2S+, polyamorous, kink,
neurodiverse, and sex worker communities, and they particularly love getting to work with
diverse relationship structures and couples wanting to navigate any transitions in their
relationships.
As an emerging therapist, Rye takes a humanistic, somatically-oriented approach with
individuals, couples, and larger relational constellations, occasionally integrating tools from DBT
when indicated. At their core, they believe each person is trying their best with the tools
they've been given or picked up along the way, even when those tools no longer serve them,
harm those around them, or cause them to disconnect from their true feelings and needs. As a
therapist, Rye provides space and collaborative support for folx to try new strategies to meet
their needs, or ask for support, and to begin the often-intimidating path of reconnecting with
their bodies, intuition, and values.
